What is a Programmable Thermostat?

If you have central heating and cooling, you already know what a thermostat does; however, something you may not be aware of are the functions and benefits of a programmable thermostat.

An average household spends over $2,200 per year on energy bills, with almost half of that for heating and cooling.  A programmable thermostat, properly set, (and, keeping those settings maintained) can help save a homeowner about $180 per year.  I don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t be offended at having an extra $180 left in my bank account!

By using a programmable thermostat you can regulate your home’s temperature during both summer and winter – whether you are home, asleep, or away.

Programmable thermostats come with four pre-programmed settings, which provide savings without sacrificing comfort; you can see the savings by adhering to those settings or adjusting them as needed.

Your main focus is to automatically reduce heating/cooling in your home when it is not needed as much (such as when you are away).

A programmable thermostat is not only ideal for savings on your heating/cooling costs, but, it is also ideal for your convenience.
