The Wear and Tear of Heating and Air

In Indoor Air Quality, Maintenance, Repair, Service on October 22, 2014 at 2:29 pm

As your heating and air conditioning system gets older, general wear and tear can lead it to stop working as efficiently. Your system works very hard to keep your home comfortable and that can take its toll. Your system has so many intricate parts that a number of things can affect it over time.

The number one cause of system failure is the buildup of dust. Changing your air filters indoors monthly, and having your system cleaned once a year can prevent this. Your system may also find itself having to work harder and longer season after season to maintain the level of comfort that you would like. But that’s to be expected, right?

What About My Warranty?

In Indoor Air Quality, Maintenance, Repair, Service, Warranty on October 10, 2014 at 3:52 pm

Most heating and cooling systems will come with a warranty whenever you purchase a new system. The length of coverage ranges depending on the system and you can even extend them sometimes when your coverage is almost up. Warranties are great for those unforeseen repair needs, especially if your system is only a few years old.

But did you know that your warranty could be voided if the manufacturer determines that neglect of maintenance was the cause? Just like you would get an oil change or tune-up on your car, your heating and cooling system needs this same attention. You don’t want your car’s transmission to blow up just like you don’t want your heater to stop working this fall. Especially if you’ll be stuck with the full bill because it could have been prevented with a tune-up.

Unfortunately sometimes, we’ve just got to learn, but we have come up with a few ways to help you avoid this trouble with “How to Avoid Lessons Learned the Hard Way.”  Take a look; it could save you a lot of money in the future.

24 Hours a Day

Up for a quick survey question? Here goes: what time of day would you most like to experience problems with your air conditioning system?

Would that be the middle of the night when you can’t sleep due to the heat? Or maybe the first thing the next morning when you’re dressing for work? Or midafternoon when things are getting really toasty warm?

Go ahead – just pick your favorite time when you would most like to experience the reality of an air conditioning repair…

Uh, I’m guessing you’re looking for the slot for “none of the above.”

Actually, I don’t have to conduct a survey to figure out that no one likes to be inconvenienced at any time by cooling problems. But I can tell you this: we provide 24-hour service because we know that you can’t always schedule problems at a convenient time. So call us at (256) 381-7195 or contact us when you need us – whenever you need us.
